Day 63, 19th October 2011. Las Vegas. Wedding day part 1

This day will be broken into 2 parts as there is so much to write
Part 1

I woke up at about 6am and because the curtains were still open I had such an amazing view out ofer Vegas. It was just starting to get light and everything was lit up. It reminded me of that bit in The Hangover where it fast forwards from the night before to the morning after. I wanted to take a photo but I was so tired/hungover that I could barely move from the bed. I fell back to sleep and woke up again at about 9am and the first thing I thought was OH MY GOD, I'M GETTING MARRIED TODAY!!
We were really tired but made ourselves get up because we had lots going on today, at 10am we went downstairs with Kirsty to get breakfast. We got coupons when we checked in for a free breakfast at the hotel so we were going to use those.

Saw Lisa on the way down so she joined us for breakfast, it was really there was loads of really nice food and it was all free, apart from that we ordered some extra fruit. After we had eaten, Gary went to meet up with Nick and Dean, and I was going out with Kirsty. I wasn't going to see him all day and gave him strict instructions to be back at the hotel for 5pm so we could eat dinner before the wedding. It was so nice that it wasn't a stressful day of getting ready. The wedding wasn't until 9pm in the evening, and it didn't really feel like a wedding day this morning.

As me and Kirsty left the hotel, the first people we saw was Gary, Dean and Nick.

They were going to a Gun Range to do some shooting, and me and Kirsty were going to do what we did best... shopping. We were also going to do sightseeing and look around all the hotels and casino's.

First we went to the MGM Grand to have a look around. It was such a nice hotel. We watched the lions for a while.

The lion was so cute, it was scared of the ball

Then we just started walking down the strip towards the mall we wanted to go to, stopping at hotels and places we wanted to take photos of on the way.

We saw a pirate walking down the road with a parrot on his shoulder and all of a sudden he was giving it to Kirsty, she didn't want it to touch her so he put it on his beer and she held his beer for a photo. He asked her to kiss it but she wouldn't. And he made us wear his hat. Gross haha.

Then of course I allowed the parrot on my shoulder, and he made me kiss it LOL. I don't even know why I did it, I can't believe I kissed some random dude's parrot, but it was cute, and I only kissed its beak haha. He wanted money from us so Kirsty gave him a dollar. Gary was not impressed when I told him that I kissed a parrot on our wedding day.

Finally, after over 2 hours of walking and hotel visiting we reached the Fashion Show Mall. Of course the first stop was Forever 21.

We spent quite a while in there, doing loads of shopping. Then we went to Victoria's Secret, bought quite a lot in there too, and finally we went to a shoe shop where Kirsty got some Converse. I wanted some too but I thought I better not as I'd already spent loads, then I ended up buying the Converse I wanted a week later.

Once we were done shopping, we were all tired out and got a bus back to the hotel. I was starting to get really excited by this point and kept counting down the hours until I would be married. It was about 3pm when we got back to Hooters, so we went and changed into our bikini's to sit by the pool. We thought the boys would already be back and thought that's where they would be, but they were still out.

Meanwhile... here's some photos from their day out at the Gun Range. All I know is Gary had a really good day and shot some cool guns, that I wouldn't be able to name for you I'm afraid.

Back at the hotel, me and Kirsty sat around the pool for about an hour and a half, just chatting and relaxing. We tried going in the water but it was freezing so we got straight back out. I forgot to mention this in yesterdays blog, but Vegas is so hot. Of course I knew it would be hot before we went, but I was still surprised by how boiling it was. Yes I know its a desert and that is to be expected, but it was really really hot. No wonder everything is done at night, because it's too hot to go out in the day. Regardless of that, the water was still too cold so we were upset about that (we later learned that one side was heated, we had got in the wrong side).

We both decided to go back to our rooms to have a shower and start getting ready for tonight, before we were meeting for dinner at 5. I put all my new stuff that I'd bought away and had a shower and was wondering where the hell the boys were. I rang Nick and Deans room a few times to see if they were there, but they weren't. At 5pm, me and Kirsty went downstairs to wait for them and they were not turning up....!
By the time it was 5.05, I had convinced myself, and Kirsty, that they were really drunk and had forgotten about the wedding, as well as other various Hangover style shenanigans. I kept ringing and texting him frantically saying 'we are getting married in 4 hours... where are you?!?'
At about 5.10, when I had convinced myself that I would never see him again, he rang saying that they had already eaten, and they were in a Casino so me and Kirsty should just go ahead and eat on our own. So I had my last single girl meal in the hotel restaurant with Kirsty, and it was so good. We both had a grilled chicken breast with mashed potatoes, and it was seriously one of the best things I've ever eaten.I don't even like mashed potatoes, but they were amazing. I had a really lovely day with Kirsty, she was the best bridesmaid I could have asked for and I'm glad I got to spend the day with her.

Gary got back just as we were finishing our food, he had been running all up and down the strip collecting $1 chips from each of the Casino's. Then it was time to go and get ready for the WEDDING!!!

Part 2 coming up
