Day 9, 26th August 2011. Redwood - Oregon

When we woke up this morning Lauren (the other one) was certain she had a bear outside her tent in the night, so we were glad we did the bear proofing! My throat was still realy sore so eating breakfast was no good. This morning we drove about 15 minutes back into Redwood National Park to do another small hike along the coast. It only took about half an hour and it was mainly along the beach. We looked out for migrating whales but unfortunatley we didn't see any.

We had another really long driving day today, and we were finally out of California after a week and into Oregon. At about 2pm we reached the sand dunes which was our activity for the day. They sold it as a'30 minute roller coaster ride' which it most definitely was not. We saw some good scenery but the ride itself was totally crap, and we got all covered in sand.

After that was over, and we were waiting to leave, the people that live there bought out their baby kittens for us to play with, they were so cute!!

The kittens loved Lauren!

It was a few more hours drive until we reached our campsite in Corvallis, Oregon. It was Gary's teams turn to cook dinner tonight and they made steak which was actually really nice. We didn't really do anything this evening, I painted my nails and we just all sat around the campfire chatting and stuff until we were tired.
